Susan Waggoner - Rwanda
What is one highlight from your experience on your venture?
“It's hard to pick just one, but if I have to I would say going on home visits and getting to step into the lives of some Rwandans. Going into their homes and seeing what their lives look like really provided me with a better perspective on the world. It helped me to get out of the bubble that I sometimes live in.”
What do you want to remember about your experience?
“It is amazing how grateful the Rwandans are for things that seem so small to us. They are some of the most grateful and joyous people I have ever been around. Some of them don't know what their next meal will be, but are still able to be joyful and fully trust that the Lord will provide. It was a great reminder to me to be more grateful in everything I do and for everything I have, as well as to find more joy in the little things and trust that the Lord will provide.”
How did Go Rings help bring your community (friends/family/coworkers) together to help you fundraise?
“If you are like me and don't like asking people for money, Go Rings provides a great way to share about what you are fundraising for without having to straight up ask someone for money. Go Rings helped me to share about my trip, and I was amazed by how many people were interested in it and wanted to support me. Not only did people purchase from Go Rings to support me, but I also had people just donate without a purchase (especially guys). I had friends and family share about Go Rings with their friends and family too!”
What advice would you give to someone considering fundraising with Go Rings?
“Don't be afraid to share about your partnership and what you are raising money for. I was so surprised by the people that supported me. People want to support you! I recommend using social media! Instagram stories were very successful for me. I actually only posted a regular Instagram post once.”
What is your favorite Go Rings product?
“I LOVE the rings! I get compliments on it all the time.”
