For Good Welding

We require appointments! You can book here.

Please note: our website does NOT allow appointments to be booked on the same day of booking. Please plan ahead so we can get you welded up :)

Our studio is located across 75 from SMU - near the intersection of SMU Blvd & Greenville Ave.Β Once you book, our exact address will be in your confirmation email!

We're not a storefront with set hours, so to avoid any missed connections, we don't give out our Studio's address without an appointment.

You can read it here!Β But basically, cancel 24 hours in advance if you'd like a refund. Any appointmentΒ cancelled within 24h will only be eligible for store credit or rescheduling.

We have a tiny team and limited availability, so typically what you seeing available for online booking is the extent of what we can offer.Β Slots fill fast!

We open up booking 30 days in advance. If you're trying to book ahead of that, just wait for that 30-day window and you should be golden.

If you're trying to book for a special occasion but there aren't any appointments available, you can reach out to hello@gorings.com and we'll do our best to accommodate. No promises! But! We always love to get as many people welded up as we possibly can.

When booking, please select one time slot for each thing you'd like welded. One appointment accommodates one person getting one piece of jewelry welded. You can book them back to back!

This helps a ton with scheduling and wait times for other clients. Thanks!

Permanent jewelry is as permanent as you want it to be. Our welded bracelets, anklets and necklaces can easily be removed with scissors, but these will also stay on you for over a year if that's what you're going for!Β

We guarantee our welded jewelry to last for at least one year. If it gets caught on something or you have to take it off for medical reasons, we're happy to re-weld you within a calendar year. Just email hello@gorings.com to schedule a re-weld at our Dallas Studio.

No - you'll choose it once you get the studio. We have plenty of options for you in both 14k Gold-Filled and Sterling Silver.

Yes! If you need to take your jewelry off for any reason, just carefully cut it at the jump ring (the little connector that we welded!) with scissors, and we can get you re-welded for no fee. Just email hello@gorings.com to schedule.

Jewelry-Related

Our rings run true to size. Any local jewelry store will be happy to size you.

It means that there’s a certain amount of pure gold in the jewelry. Legally, pure gold has to make up at least 5% of the product by weight. This thick outer layer of gold surrounds the base metal (usually a more affordable alloy), making the metal super durable and safe for people with allergies or sensitive skin.Β

By and large: Gold-Filled jewelry won't turn, tarnish, or react with your skin. If it does, let us know and we'll get you refunded.

There’s a lotttt more pure gold in Gold-Filled jewelry. Literally 100x more. Gold-Plated jewelry typically contains about .05% pure gold, making it more of a thin, flaky film rather than a substantial component of the metal - it will wear off over a short amount of time.

We've all made that mistake and bought the trendy piece of jewelry at Madewell or Nordstrom Rack that you *really want* to last, but it turns within 2 weeks. Gold-Filled jewelry will stand the test of time, without breaking the bank.

Technically, yes. Does it? Rarely. It takes a pretty wild set of circumstances to tarnish. Because of the thick outer layer of gold, gold-filled jewelry will usually last many years, if not a lifetime, while keeping its integrity.Β

We love Gold-Filled jewelry because it’s reasonably priced, keeps its integrity for years, is easy to care for, and doesn’t mess with your skin.

You can check out a blog we wrote about the in's and out's of Gold-Filled materials, why we love them, and how to determine if it's the right choice for you.

Long story short: Probably not. It is possible, though! We have only seen it happen a few times in 9 years of business.

Short Story Long: If the thick gold outer layer wears off, your skin could be exposed to metals that you react with. Everyone’s body chemistry is different! If your skin reacts to metals, it usually doesn’t hurt – it just turns black or green.

The alloys in gold-filled jewelry that can corrode are silver and copper based, which can form dark chemical compounds under moist conditions… aka sweaty hands and humidity. When you sweat, fats and fatty acids are released which can cause corrosion on your gold-filled ring. Chlorine can also play a role in discoloration, eating away at gold and the alloys under some circumstances.

This is one reason why we love it! Gold-filled jewelry doesn’t really take much maintenance.

You can use a mild soap and water mixture with a soft toothbrush or rag to clean gold-filled jewelry, restoring its shine.Β Β

Sterling Silver generally holds up great over time, but is more susceptible to turning and tarnishing than our 14k Gold-Filled jewelry.

One of the easiest ways to prevent tarnish is to simply wear your silver often as opposed to letting it sit in a jewelry box unworn.Β

Though showering & exercising with Sterling Silver jewelry on should not harm the metal, there is a good chance that it could induce tarnishing when you subject the jewelry to this kind of wear and tear over time. Waters that contain chlorine, salts, or harsh chemicals can affect the look of your sterling silver.Β

Long story short: if we were you, we'd be a little more picky about taking our silver jewelry off to prolong its life. Having said that, you should still get some solid years out of your SS pieces with zero maintenance!
